Abstract Submission Information
- Delegates wishing to present a paper or poster presentation should submit their abstracts online click here, for consideration for the academic programme. Clinical Results must be clearly presented in the abstract.
- Abstracts must adhere to the guidelines and be submitted by 29 June 2012 for consideration.
- Late submission of abstracts will not be accepted.
- Please read the submission requirements carefully as changes to the abstract submitted will not be allowed.
- Abstracts received will be acknowledged. The notification of acceptance or rejection will be by email before 20 July 2012.
- The Congress Academic Committee reserves the right to select papers and posters for presentation.
- All presenting authors are requested to be fully registered for the congress by 31 July 2012. If no registration and payment for the 2012 ENT/SAAA/SASLHA Congress has been received by this deadline, the presentation will not be listed in the programme.
- Please Note: The presenting author should be submitting the abstract and not a co-author.
- Please note that no more than three submissions will be allowed per presenter.
Oral / Podium Presentations
- The meeting rooms are equipped with data projectors and only MS PowerPoint will be accepted.
- Oral presentations should be a maximum of 8 minutes with 2 minutes allowed for questions thereafter.
Poster Exhibition Presentation
- The poster panels should be no larger than 120cm high and 75cm wide. Please be aware that there is no space for excessive sizes.
- Presenters are requested to make several A4 copies of their posters for hand-outs for delegates. A4 plastic sleeves will be provided at the poster boards for the poster copies and for business cards.
- Presenters will be required to stand by their posters during a lunchtime Q&A session by evaluators.
Abstract Guidelines
Please Note that Abstracts must:
- Be submitted online.
- Be a maximum of 250 words excluding the title.
- Be submitted in English using single line spacing.
- Define each abbreviation the first time it is used in the text by placing it in parentheses.
- Be original work.
- Conflict of Interest: If the research is funded (partially or fully) by a proprietary organisation, a statement to that effect must be included at the bottom of the abstract.
Abstract preparation guidelines:
Profile: The presenting author should create and complete the online submission and not a co-author.
- Category: Select your category preference you wish to submit your abstract under.
- Title: Insert the full title of the proposed presentation. Title should not exceed 15 words and should be in Title Case.
- Co-authors: Insert full names and surnames.
- Co-author Email Address: Insert the email address of your Co-author.
- Abstract Type: Select your presentation preference (oral or poster) which will be noted, but cannot be guaranteed.
- Text: Insert the text of the abstract. You will not be able to type additional words once the limit has been reached, so please check your abstract once submitted. Do not insert the title or co-authors in this text block. Check that the full abstract has been successfully uploaded.

- Methods
- Results
- Conclusions
